There was an upset to the promotion plans of Basingstoke Athletic when they returned from their visit to Overton United B, beaten 3-1 in this Division Two fixture,

With previous leaders Hook engaged in the cup, Basingstoke Royals won 5-1 against Tadley Calleva A to move top of the Premier Division table. Tadley never recovered from the first half onslaught that saw Royals 4-0 ahead by the 25th minute. Steve Horton scored the first from a Nick Wilcock pass and Wilcock made it 2-0 following the left wing centre from James Gilham. In the 20th Matt Dean volleyed home from 30 yards and the fourth was again from Wilcock, assisted by Gilham. Tadley did have more of the play than the score indicted and strong claims for a penalty at 1-1 were turned down. Royals went further in front in the 60th when combined play between Scott Harvey and Wilcock led to Dean scoring his second. Tadley kept plugging away, but their only reward came when Stephen Burgess beat Richard Munday after some determined play.

There was an upset to the promotion plans of Basingstoke Athletic when they returned from their visit to Overton United B, beaten 3-1 in this Division Two fixture, their first league defeat. Athletic looked in control and after 12 minutes a sloppy back pass led to Nathan Read giving them taking lead. Overton replied in the 25th with a thunderous 25 yard strike from Matt Wilson, much too good for keeper James Lounton. It remained level until the 65th when a good move by Dan Houseman ended with Darren White chipping the keeper and more slick play by Houseman, led to White scoring the third. It is Bounty United who takes over top of the table following a 4-0 win at Castle Fields against Herriard Sports. With Mike Gilham was in good form, with a virtuoso performance in midfield they bossed the game throughout. Mitchell Stokes took a pass from Steve Bucksey, outpaced the Herriard defence to give them a 27th minute lead and Matt Love smashed home the second. It was Love again in the 64th with a goal on the break and a top corner finish and the18 yard strike from Jordon Willis nestled in the bottom corner for the fourth by the 68th .Bounty kept up the pressure and Phil Case had a goal disallowed for an infringement following a corner kick. For Herriard Martin Miles forced a good save from keeper Szymon Dowszynski to keep their first clean sheet of the season as Herriard finished the last twenty minutes with ten men through injury. I watched the Sherborne St John Reserves versus Basingstoke Labour Club and the 3-1 win for Labour took them right up the table to third, the highest they have ever been. Matt Kelly gave them an 18th minute lead and although they always looked to have the edge, it was Sherborne who equalized in the 55th minute when Dave Purt put through Alex Izzo Within ten minutes Labour were back in front when a 60 yard ball over the top from Wayne Barlow was picked up by Cameron George who raced on to beat the out coming Kevin Merritt. The Sherborne defence was exposed again down the right flank in the 85th minute when a fine cross from Graham Williams was met by Kelly who hammered it past Merritt for his second.. Sherborne pushed up for the remaining time and in this period both Connor Perrin and Adam Mason had chances to put things right with keeper Sam White saving from Perrin and Mason shooting miles wide when right through.
