Sheffield Players On International Duty Again This Week
Hannah Cain and Niamh Cashin have again been selected for England duty this week during the international break.
Sheffield FC Ladies' defender, Niamh Cashin, attends a four-day WU18s camp this week at the national team headquarters in Staffordshire, St. George's Park.
Cashin, who celebrated her 18th birthday just last week-end, joins up with Emma Coates' squad for the second time this season. The camp includes a match on Friday 2 March against .
At the same time, forward Hannah Cain travels to the somewhat warmer climate of Spain to join up with the England WU19s as they take part in the annual La Manga Tournament.
The team continues its preparations for the final qualification round of the UEFA Women’s U19s Championship finals in July which will be hosted by Switzerland.
To get there, the team must qualify from the Elite Round at the end of March. The event, to be held in Slovakia, will see England battle against Israel, Germany and the hosts, with only the group winners progressing to the finals of the competition.
The La Manga Tournament is the final get together before that all-important Elite Round, and the intense itinerary includes three matches starting with the USA on Friday 2 March, continuing with the Czech Republic two days later, and finishing the week with a meeting against France on Tuesday 6 March.
Everyone at Sheffield FC would like to wish both players all the very best for the week, and for their continued development, progression and success at international level.
